These earrings are handmade in Thailand. The earring itself is waxed cotton cord, which is tightly hand braided,giving it a stiff quality.The gemstones are reconstructed Turquoise. The turquoise is real - when there are pieces too small to use in a settings,they are ground and mixed with resin to hold it together.They are just not in their natural nugget state. The earwire is .925 Sterling Silver. They are approx. 2" wide and 1.5" in length.
